A small fire was reported at Popeyes on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Tooele City firefighters were dispatched to the restaurant at approximately 10:42 a.m., according to Matt McCoy, Tooele City’s fire chief. When they arrived, they found a small fire in the area where the fryers are located.

All members of staff and customers were able to evacuate the building safely, McCoy said. No other areas of the building were affected. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Tooele City police, Tooele County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Mountain West Medical Center’s ambulance staff, and staff from the Tooele County Health Department also responded.
